Taking inspiration from her tasty cupcake paintings  that feature as part of Sugar join artist Deborah  Donnelly in this fun step-by-step cupcake workshop.  You will leave with your very own delicious  masterpiece! Deborahs work is a celebration of colour  and fun and she is author of the brilliant page-by-page  How to paint…A Cow! and How to Paint…A Penguin!  guide books.

SUGAR CUBE SCULPTING

Sugar cube building workshop with sculptor Brendan Jamison for kids and adults to join in! Brendan will show how to build a tower and a house like those in Sugar. The sugar cube sculpture workshop is a great exercise in problem-solving but also a lot of fun for all the family!

TIC TEAC TIC TEAC PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOP

Wednesday 1 Aug 1.30 – 2.30pm
Children’s Room, Garter Lane Gallery
Age: 3-6 years (plus accompanying adult)
Tickets: €10 (First 15 bookings receive a FREE
ticket to afternoon show)

In association with her show Tic Teac Tic Teac, Puppeteer Niamh Lawlor invites 3-6 year olds to remember what it was like to be a baby and to make a baby puppet who just might grow up before the end of the workshop! All children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring an overall or wear old clothes.

Tic Teac Tic Teac performance will take place after puppet workshop at 3.45 – 4.30pm.

 

MONSTER GINGERBREAD HOUSE

Thursday 2 Aug 11am – 12.30pm
Garter Lane Theatre Age: 5+ years
Tickets: FREE admission pre-booking required

Come along and join artist Ben Hennessy in this fun workshop and help build a MONSTER gingerbread house inside Garter Lane! Make friends and work as a team to construct a sugary dwelling. Your masterpiece will then be left on display in the gallery for the rest of SprOg alongside the Sugar exhibition.

 

CARTOON CHARACTER WORKSHOP….WITH A TASTY TWIST!

Friday 3 Aug 10am – 1pm

Age: 7-11 years Tickets: €10

Workshop with a tasty twist! Create your own cartoon characters with the help of Fabian Erlinghauser, animation supervisor on Cartoon Saloon studio’s Oscar-nominated film The Secret Of Kells. The workshop teaches children how to draw and animate cartoon characters and learn animation techniques!
