HYDROMANIA!
 Based in, on and
around the beautiful building that is Waterford
Courthouse, in the Peoples Park, Avanti Display present
“Hydromania!”, a site specific show employing
large scale water effects to create a spectacular
performance It’s a fabulous celebration of water, a
spectacle designed to animate a public space, with the
lyrical beauty of interplay between water and light,
combined with physical performance and music.
Hydromania! is a show that has toured worldwide,
including Singapore, Croatia and Australia. Most recently
it was produced in Liverpool for the 2008 Capital of
Culture Celebrations.
This production could not have been staged without the
active support and sponsorship of the Waterford
Solicitors Group, and the Spraoi Festival salutes the
public spirit of a profession that has such close links
with the Courthouse.  The
Festival is also indebted to the staff and management of
the Court Service for facilitating the use of the
building and grounds.

CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL
Two very special events will take place at
Christ Church Cathedral over the Spraoi Festival weekend.
Friday 1st of August at 10pm. Tickets €10*:
NOSFERATU, A SYMPHONY OF HORROR (over 15’s only)
Not for the faint hearted, this is a unique
opportunity to enjoy the classic 1922 silent movie
‘Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror’ in an
atmospheric setting. The spine-chilling film will feature
live organ accompaniment by Donald McKenzie (House
Organist at the Odeon Leicester Square, London). Early
booking is advised

CITY OF WATERFORD BRASS ENSEMBLE
A brunch time concert with one of Waterford’s
favourite brass ensembles. City of Waterford Brass
celebrated their 75th Anniversary in 2007, a milestone
marked by a number of high profile concerts and
engagements all over Wateford County and City. Enjoy the
sound of this wonderful brass band in the lovely
surroundings of Christ Church Cathedral at this very
special free concert.
SPRAOI FESTIVAL CLUB
THE FORUM, WATERFORD. (over

The only party to see and be seen at during the Festival!
Three great late nights of live music and top class
DJ’s. Many of the top bands at the festival will be
appearing, not to mention DJ’s Tommy, Louis and Zoe
filling the spaces between live acts with great tunes.
The line-up includes The Latin Dub Sound System, the Fat
45’s, Ilya K, Saviours of Space, the Red Stripe
Band, Gorbachov, Split Whiskers, Paprika Balkinicus, The
Deaf Animal Orchesta, Tórann and more … And at the
Club on Friday, August 1st, Ilya K are also launching
their eagerly anticipated first album “Anaesthesia
Ad Infinitum”.

A limited number of weekend passes will be put on sale
for €30 from Monday, 21st July and you can buy these
at BPM and Next Door at the Forum.
Doors open 11.30 on Friday and Saturday, and 11pm on

Sólo Flamenco
Formed in January 2007, Sólo Flamenco is the initiative
of six friends, all brought together by the art of
Flamenco. Having danced with various teachers in Dublin
and abroad, under the tuition of Spanish flamenco dancer
and choreographer Felipe de Algeciras, they decided to
form a group and perform under the name Sólo Flamenco.
For Spraoi they’ll be performing on Sunday
afternoon, in Arundel Square, at 2.15, 3.15 and 4.30pm.
FIREWORKS FINALE
Clem Jacob Hire will light up the skies at Spraoi 2008 by
sponsoring the Fireworks Finale on Sunday evening at
10.30pm on the Quay. They will help bring the three day
party to a spectacular and dazzling climax with the
assistance of one of the top UK pyrotechnic companies,
Pyrofantasia.
