With an emphasis on quality and diversity, music has always been a main feature of the Spraoi Festival. Sounds of many kinds reverberate
through the city over the three days. With over 200 free gigs,
both indoors and out, the music programme leaves the Spraoi audience
spoilt for choice. Different elements
make up the music programme. There's outdoor stages, indoor pub
gigs on the Guinness Rhythm Route, and small intimate pavement sessions. For 2010 Spraoi were delighted to welcome TalkTalk as the Sponsor of the
Mainstage
in the City Centre. The Beat 102103 Stage on the William Vincent
Wallace Plaza was also a huge attraction.
 A
new in novation for Spraoi 2010 was Stage 2 at Blackfriars,
featuring a line up was sometimes new, young, sometimes quirky or just
plain different. Spraoi
is also known for the great pavement sesisons the festival hosts, and
2010 was no exception. There' was lots of music on the
streets and corners of the city, courtesy of percussion,
brass
and jazz bands.
A major element
of the festival is always the Guinness Rhythm Route, featuring national and international bands playing in pubs
throughout the city centre in the afternoons and evenings. If
you like music, then, come to Spraoi, you'll be
spoilt for choice. And all the gigs, indoors and
out, are free!
